Four dead, dozens injured in mine collapse
Sekotong Police Chief Lalu Mustakim told kompas.com on Sunday that the four deceased, Adi Suryadi, H. Taufiq, Ubud and Aba Cin, had been taken to West Lombok regional hospital.
"We received news that there are dozens involved in the incident. What's certain is four had died, while four others are severely injured and bruised," he said.
Those injured, he said, were undergoing treatment at West Lombok hospital.
Several Sekotong police officers were dispatched to the location, however, were still unable to reach it due hazardous roads.
"The search and rescue team and police will again try to evacuate all victims buried under the cliff at the mining location," Mustakim said.
This mining accident is the second to have occurred this year.
In July 2008, three miners had died after being buried under debris of an illegal mine in Bukit Kedaro, West Lombok
